Tips for gathering evidence to demonstrate your skills

The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

RIIWBP501D - Implement site waste and by-product management plan

What evidence can you provide to prove your understanding of each of the following citeria?

Plan and prepare site waste and by-product management plan implementation

  1. Access, interpret and apply site waste and by-product management plan documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant
  2. Identify and document needs, quantity, quality, source and means of treatment of waste and by-product for production needs of the site
  3. Investigate, obtain and maintain all appropriate licences
  4. Ensure the water quality and water-course and ground water contamination are monitored and recorded
  5. Ensure site treatment works for contaminated drainage or development/processing waters are designed and located to satisfy requirements
  6. Establish management systems with appropriate inlet/outlet works and means of improving the natural settlement process
  7. Plan and organise work schedules for operational best practice associated with managements systems and water quality specifications
